Volunteers assist with market set-up and operations. Your efforts support local farmers while increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables among women and children in need, thereby contributing positively to their overall health.
Before signing up, volunteers must complete online FMNP Training and Civil Rights Training. Once you have completed both of these qualifications, email your training certifications to volunteer@tafb.org, then register with your preferred date(s) below! You will be able to complete your registration once your qualifications are confirmed.
Volunteer roles include but are not limited to:
- Set up/clean up of market
- Directing traffic/parking
- Determining client eligibility and issuing FMNP vouchers
- Helping clients carry items to their car
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, able to lift and carry 15 pounds, stands for long periods at a time and work outside. Volunteers under 18 years old must have an adult chaperone present. Volunteers who are bi-lingual in Spanish or Vietnamese are especially needed.
Personal protective equipment is optional. More information about volunteer roles, the logistics of the markets, and safety are provided in the required trainings.
