Who We Are
Led by the Garden & Farm Programs team, TAFB partners with Tarrant County WIC (Women, Infants and Children) clinics and local farmers markets to implement the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). Vouchers are issued from May-September and can be redeemed May-October.
TAFB will also facilitate the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) this year for low-income adults age 60+. Vouchers will be issued at participating farmers markets from May-September and can be redeemed May-October.
What We Do
Eligible WIC clients and senior adults are issued vouchers which can be used to buy a variety of fresh produce and herbs from participating farmers markets. Farmers at participating markets accept FMNP and SFMNP vouchers.
We are in need of volunteers who are bilingual in English and Spanish for every shift.
For more information on this program, please visit our Farmers Market Nutrition Programs Page.
Volunteers must complete required online S/FMNP Annual Training and Civil Rights Annual Training before volunteering. Civil Rights Certificate must be emailed to farmprograms@tafb.org before volunteering. Then log your trainings here: https://forms.office.com/r/iL9zjTT919
Please complete and log trainings as soon as you sign up! If you have not completed and logged completion by 1 week prior to your scheduled service you will be contacted by TAFB staff to complete and log these trainings or cancel your shift. You will see an hour of volunteer service logged for completing your trainings.
