Nutrition Ambassadors represent the Community Nutrition team of Tarrant Area Food Bank at resource/ family fairs, and farmers markets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare designated recipe using produce from farmers
- Set TAFB Community Nutrition team table with materials, snacks, and garden kits.
- Breaks down event and return items to TAFB.
Time Required:
- Volunteers spend travel time to and from the site.
- Volunteers are expected to check in with Tarrant Area Food Bank staff.
What You Can Expect From the Program:
- Tarrant Area Food Bank staff will meet with you initially to help you get acquainted with the materials. The staff will also help you understand what to expect from the group you will be assisting.
- Tarrant Area Food Bank staff will be available to meet with you at any time to discuss any questions you might have about the program.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional nutrition experience or current nutrition student.
- Certification and/or familiarity with ServSafe or an equivalent food safety and sanitation program
- Familiarity and/or experience with our target audience and with their particular needs.
- Willingness to teach and speak in front of a group.
- Willingness to be flexible, patient, and understanding of participants.
