- Welcome & Arrival Time: Thank you for signing up as a First-Time Volunteer!
- First-Time Volunteers should arrive at 7:00 am to receive the First-Time Volunteer Orientation.
- Dress: Dress comfortably, and in weather-appropriate attire. Layers are encouraged. Tennis shoes and hiking boots are recommended. Closed-toe shoes are required. Crocs, slip-ons, and house shoes are not acceptable.
- Parking: The Volunteer Entrance sign indicates the point of entry for volunteers. Park in the volunteer parking area.
- Check-In/Check-Out: Walk towards the playground, follow the Feather Flags & signage indicating “Volunteer Check In”, proceed inside the building to Check-In. Check-In at the computer KIOSK, grab a vest.
- Restrooms are available inside the building.
- Safety Vests: All volunteers are required to have a safety vest on during their volunteering. Vests are provided by CRC at Check-In. You may bring your own bright colored vest.
- Pre-registration: Volunteers should be pre-registered. Pre-registration verify spots are available for the shift you desire to attend.
- Website: visit the CRC website (cindyramseycenter.org/volunteer > volunteer today > calendar) to see available shifts.
- Gates Close: Volunteer Entrance gate closes at 7:45 am. Food Entrance gate closes at 10 am. When the gate is closed and all vehicles have exited the lot, the shift is over.
- End of Shift: At the end of your shift velcro or zip the vests before returning them to the “used-vests” bucket.
- Weather: The Saturday Mobile Market is open rain or shine. Dress for the weather. The parking lot feels 10 degrees cooler and hotter. The Saturday Mobile Market will not close due to rain - expect delays due to lightning, ice, or Snow.
- Social Media-Follow the Cindy Ramsey Center on Instagram, Facebook, and check our website for updates.
- Communication: CRC staff will communicate via the website, social media, and email. CRC follows KISD school closures during the school year.
- Water / Beverages: Bring a water bottle to rehydrate. CRC provides water bottles on site.
- Recycle: Recycle by placing bottles in the crate next to the trash can.
- Beverages provided: Gatorade in hot weather, and free coffee in the morning.
- Community Service Hours: Email Abby Gallardo at agallardo@cindyramseycenter.org or bring paperwork and turn in your folder at Check-In. You must have a sign-in and check-in under your First and Last name for hours to be approved. We provide 3 hours and 15 minutes to individuals who are checked in and in a role before the morning meeting and who volunteer for the entire shift.
