Join us for family days at TAFB! Groups and individuals are invited to volunteer for Quality Control (QC) at Tarrant Area Food Bank's distribution center, where donated food products are sorted, inspected and repacked for distribution to a network of partner organizations in a 13-county area. Volunteers in Quality Control make a BIG impact by helping to ensure that our neighbors in need receive safe, quality food.
Volunteer roles can include, but are not limited to:
- Sorting cans, grocery items and packaged meats
- Preparing boxes
Unless other arrangements are made, volunteers should be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Minimum Age, Height and Chaperones:
Individuals as young as 8 years old and 55 inches tall may volunteer in QC. Children ages 8-13 require one adult chaperone for every 1 to 3 children volunteering. Kids ages 14-15 years old require one adult chaperone for every 1 to 10 youth. Because Tarrant Area Food Bank is concerned about the safety of all volunteers, there are no exceptions to this policy.
