Quality Control - FIFA Takeover

Description

We invite both groups and individuals to participate in volunteer opportunities for Quality Control (QC) at Tarrant Area Food Bank’s Distribution Center. This center plays a vital role in sorting, inspecting, and repacking donated food that is distributed to partner agencies across our 13-county service area. QC volunteers make a meaningful impact by helping ensure our neighbors receive safe, high-quality food.

As part of our partnership with FIFA, we’re excited to introduce FIFA-themed volunteer shifts that combine service, community, and the love of the game.
During June, volunteers will be able to watch World Cup matches during the QC shift, with the game streaming on our projector screen while you serve.

Volunteer Responsibilities May Include:

  • Sorting cans, grocery items, and packaged meats
  • Preparing boxes
  • Inspecting fruits and vegetables

Unless alternative arrangements are made, volunteers should be able to stand for extended periods and lift 30–40 pounds.

Minimum Age & Chaperone Guidelines

  • Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and 55 inches tall
  • Ages 12–13: 1 adult chaperone per 1–3 youth
  • Ages 14–15: 1 adult chaperone per 1–10 youth

For the safety of all volunteers, no exceptions can be made to these guidelines.
