Volunteer: Second and Fourth Saturday Pantry RestockHelp us fight hunger and ensure that every family who visits our pantry has the food they need. Each month, as demand continues to grow in our community, we gather volunteers on the second Saturday to restock shelves, prepare grocery bags, and get our pantry ready to serve families in the week ahead. Volunteer Roles Include: Sorting and restocking pantry shelves Building Grocery Bags Light warehouse tasks Bring the family! This is a family-friendly opportunity - kids (minimum age 10), teens, and adults can all serve together. To make the morning even better, coffee and donuts will be provided for all volunteers! This opportunity would be great for volunteers who are interested in social interaction and light physical activity. This would also be the perfect opportunity for Corporate groups, Youth groups, and Service Leagues who are interested in serving their communities and building comradery amongst teams. Volunteers can expect to greet volunteers, carry groceries for clients, sort and stock groceries for clients choosing, push and load carts for clients and carry groceries to client’s cars. The Church of Christ distributes food every 4th Saturday, and volunteer support is essential to continue serving our neighbors. Volunteers will have the opportunity to support the community by taking on different roles, including but not limited to: Bagging Food: Volunteers will be responsible for kitting and creating grocery bags that will be given out to community members. Runner: Volunteers will be required to move the bagged food to the loading area. Loading: Volunteers will be responsible for inserting the bagged groceries into vehicles. Individuals as young as 16 years old are welcome to volunteer. However, volunteers must be able to lift 15 pounds, stand for periods at a time, and work in a location that is not temperature controlled.
