Court-Ordered/Lawyer Referred Volunteers

Welcome to the Tarrant Area Food Bank's Community Service Volunteer Program! If you have been referred to us for community service by a court or attorney, please follow the steps below to begin your journey with us.

Please note that you will not be able to volunteer with us if you have these offenses: any sort of physical, violent (includes assault), or sexual offense.

Step 1: Attend a Required Orientation

  • Orientation Requirement:  All community service volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation before beginning their service. This session will cover essential information about our organization, volunteer expectations, and safety protocols. RSVP to the orientation HERE.
  • Bring Required Paperwork: During the orientation, you will complete your Community Service Volunteer Application. Please bring all relevant paperwork from your probation officer, court contact, or lawyer. This includes documents that outline your community service requirements.

Step 2: Application Review and Approval

  • Processing Your Application: After the orientation, our team will review your completed application and the submitted paperwork to determine your eligibility for our volunteer programs.
  • Approval Notification: Once your application has been reviewed, you will be notified of our decision. Upon approval, you will be eligible to sign up for designated volunteer shifts.

Important Information

Do Not Sign Up for Shifts Until Approved:
Please note that you cannot sign up for any volunteer shifts until you have completed the orientation, submitted your paperwork, and received approval. This policy ensures we can manage our volunteer resources effectively and comply with any legal requirements.

Denied Applications:
If your application is denied, you will not be able to volunteer for any of our programs or events. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to explore other community service opportunities that may be available to you.
